Samuel Cody Aviation Lodge
Freemasonry – Building great friendships and making a difference
Welcome
On behalf of the members, I would like to extend a warm welcome to our website.
Samuel Cody Aviation Lodge is a fairly new lodge meeting at the Bordon Masonic Centre. Founded in 2018 by local masons who are serving or ex-military or civilian aviators, aircrew, groundcrew, engineers, and others with an interest in aviation. The Lodge is by no means exclusively for aviation enthusiasts, we have some members who see aeroplanes merely as a means to get to sunnier climes for a holiday!
Do you think that you have to be invited to join by a mason? Not true!
Just contact us to find out more.
The lodge is named after Samuel Cody a Wild West showman and aviation pioneer at Farnborough from 1901 to 1913 when he died in an air crash. He made the first ever powered flight in the UK at Farnborough in 1908.
We believe his name was a great choice, and the lodge has got off to a flying start with interest from around Hampshire and beyond. The Lodge has a quirky aviation theme embedded into its ritual.

Formation
The idea of an aviation lodge in the province was first raised by one of its founders Peter Musselwhite. The idea was that it should primarily be for military and civil flight crew and ground crew. However, it soon became clear from the wider interest that it should not be restricted in this way but should encompass anyone with connections or a wider interest in the aviation industry.
Meetings
1st Wed in Feb, Mar, Jun, Oct and Nov at the Bordon Masonic Centre, High Street, Bordon, Hampshire GU35 0AX.
February is the Installation of the new Master for the year.
June is usually a White Table (dinner night) with a talk/presentation where we invite wives, partners, friends, neighbours, and other non-masons.
Membership
Our members are very sociable and always encouraged to be productive in life. Freemasonry is a most rewarding hobby enjoyed by all our members and particularly those with an aviation background at Samuel Cody Aviation Lodge.
We welcome like-minded people to join us.
Membership
is open to
all men.
Freemasonry has opened a new door of opportunities for me.
I’ve met a whole set of new friends all of whom have a shared interest in flying.
We have members from all areas of aviation and we have a great deal of fun.
Closest to my heart, we raise thousands of pounds for worthwhile aero-related and other charities.
